The Red Scarf Project for Teens - for EXPERIENCED CRAFTERS
This program is a chance for crafty teens to use their skills to help people. D ecember 1st is World AIDS Day, when red scarves, mittens, and hats line the streets to bring awareness to HIV/AIDS in our communities. We will learn how to do simple knitting stitches and make red scarves to donate to The Positive Health Network serving Hamilton, Halton, Haldimand, Norfolk and Brant for those in need. Please register for this program if you are an experienced knitter or crocheter only - this means you are familiar with cast on, garter stitch or single crochet stitch, and bind off. All supplies will be provided. If you are a beginner and will need instruction, please sign up here . Participants can earn volunteer hours for high school. Please note that you should expect to have to attend the majority of the sessions in order to complete your scarf. For ages 13-17.
